One Last Walk With Izzy
A watercolor painting of the artist and his dog, Izzy, walking across the rolling hills of Appalachia Ohio.
"I paint what endures. In a culture of the disposable, I am drawn to stillness, weight, and the quiet gravity of real things — land, light, memory, presence. Each work is created with intention, meant not for passing trend but for permanence. Art should not decorate a space. It should anchor it." - Benjamin J. Young

Ben's landscape paintings explore the quiet tension between presence and memory. Rather than simply depicting scenery, Ben interprets the land as a living narrative—marked by time, atmosphere, and human experience. Each piece invites the viewer to slow down and step into a moment suspended between stillness and movement. These works are not just views of nature, but emotional terrains meant to be lived with.

Alongside Ben's larger thematic pieces, his still life, floral, and animal paintings explore quieter, more intimate subjects. These works focus on light, texture, and presence—elevating simple forms into contemplative studies of beauty and character. Whether capturing the fleeting vitality of a bloom, the quiet symbolism of arranged objects, or the instinct and personality within an animal, each painting invites the viewer to slow down and engage more deeply.
