Exhibition Updates & Accolades

I am honored to share several recent exhibition acceptances and awards:

• Stark County Artists Exhibit (2026): My watercolor painting “I’m Sorry, It’s Cancer” has been officially accepted into this year’s exhibition, hosted at the Massillon Museum.
• Door 2 Art Show (2026): “I’m Sorry, It’s Cancer” has also been accepted into the 2026 Door 2 Art Show. This deeply personal piece holds a significant place in my current narrative series, and I am grateful to see it resonating with jurors and audiences alike.
• Stark County Fair: For the first time, I entered works into the Stark County Fair, walking away with three blue 1st-place ribbons across different painting categories, alongside two red 2nd-place ribbons.
• Upcoming Exhibits: I have several additional exhibition entries currently pending review—stay tuned for updates as those decisions are finalized.

Studio Progress & Health Update

Transparency is important in my relationship with collectors, as my lived experiences directly inform the narrative realism of my work.

My ongoing cancer treatment continues to be a demanding chapter. Managing multiple specialist appointments each week has been overwhelming at times. Current medical evaluations suggest the possibility that the cancer may have spread, and I am actively planning for a second surgery followed by radiation therapy. Additionally, because I am losing my voice frequently, doctors share a real concern that it may have impacted my vocal cords; I will be consulting with my ENT specialist very soon for further evaluation.

Despite these health challenges, the work in the studio provides steady grounding. Progress on my Dolly Parton egg tempera painting continues forward, on schedule for the upcoming feature show at Second April this coming October. The traditional egg tempera medium demands immense patience and meticulous layering, and watching this portrait emerge has been a profound anchor during a rigorous season.
